Lila Imogene Brown was born November 9, 1922, at Laird, CO to Claude and Edith (Knight) Prentice. She graduated from Wray, CO High School. Lila married Lloyd Brown August 3, 1941, at St. Francis, KS. They lived in Wray, CO until 1948. They opened a blacksmith shop in Vernon, CO later moving to Onawa, IA. In 1955, the couple moved to Wayne and Lila was employed as an Agent for State National Insurance Agency. The couple spent their winters in Arizona until 1992. Lila was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gospel Seekers Bible Study, Minerva Club, Logan Valley Good Sam Camping Club, Northeast Nebraska Rock and Mineral Society, and Women of Faith.
Lila is survived by her children, Karen (Russel) Swanson of Wahoo, Ronald (Jan) Brown of Pullman, WA, Richard (Ruth) Brown of Nickerson, L. Lavern (Linda) Brown of Osmond, and Beverly (Terry) Schrieber of Laurel; thirteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd in 2001; a son, Norman in 1981; four brothers, Curtis, Dale, Russell, and Norman Prentice.
She died Monday February 25th at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
